We are delighted to announce that our St. Catherine’s Church in Ballymahon will host a Regional Songs of Praise on Sunday 25th November at 4 pm (participants to gather at 3.30).
We will have involvement from the Forgney Parish and the Athlone Group, from Lanesborough and the Roscommon Group and from the Mullingar Union of parishes. The Service will also have involvement from our local Roman Catholic brothers and sisters.
We hope to have a band to accompany some of the hymns and that many will gather to sing praise to the Lord our God and be uplifted by him. All Welcome….

Our St. Catherine’s Church in Ballymahon has been highlighted in the RCB Library’s Library’s Archive of the Month!
The parish is the parish of Shrule and is referred to as Parish “Number 1” due to the early deposition of the records. There is a fascinating account at <RCB Library Record of the Month> of what these records reveal – a fascinating read.
We are delighted to invite you to our Open Afternoon as part of Heritage Week 2018 in St Patrick’s Church, Ardagh on Sunday 26th August from 2 – 4 pm.
Activities will include speakers on the History and Architecture of the church and also on the Graveyard. This promises to be a fascinating afternoon. All are welcome.
Tea and coffee will be available. Please follow @Ardaghpres on Twitter and Facebook for updates or contact the Parish.
On Sunday 17th our Service will be a united one in Kenagh. It will be an “all age” Service of the Word. The Service will include our Sunday Club Prize Giving.
It will be followed by our all parish picnic in the grounds of Tashinny School – bring your own picnic and something for a sharing table.
As this is also a Teddy Bears’ Picnic – remember to bring your Teddy if you still have him!
De Consecration of Moydow Church
Bishop Ferran deconsecrated the church in Moydow . A great cross section of Parishioners who had a connection with the church attended. Following the short ceremony some consideration was given to the hope that an alternative use might be found for the building.
The General Easter Vestry of the Ardagh Union of Parishes will be held on Monday 9th April at 8 pm in The Lecture Hall in Kenagh. Bishop Ferran will be in the Chair.
Parishioners and friends are invited to challenge their brains with our parish quiz fundraiser. A numbered sheet of 30 tantalising questions is available at just €5 from Vestry members. This sheet should be returned on or before the 15th April. All fully correct answer sheets will be entered into a draw! Enjoy!
We were delighted to join with our neighbours from Carrickedmond and Abbeyshrule Parishes in the Service of Prayer developed by the Churches in the Carribean.
Particularly special was the moment when we created a human chain as we prayed The Lord’s Prayer together.
Thank you for the welcome to the presbytery for a chat over a cup of tea!
